It was my first day back, YIPPEEE!!! Today was the first day back in the bike after having a fever, I’m not feeling a 100% but I’m definetly feeling better. Today was a pretty big day to jump back in on, it’s one of our biggest climb days. This was a little difficult with a cold but we took our time and took lots of rest breaks. All day we had a really big shoulder that was nicely paved. At the beginning of the day we had a three mile stretch of road work that was nice because the road was extremely quiet and the traffic was moving very slow. The first 15 ish miles was consistently uphill, this was definetly a hard way to start the day but it also meant we had a nice stretch of down hill. The rest of the day was big hills and small amount of down hill. I wasn’t able to pick up enough speed on the downhills to get to the top of the uphill so that was a bit of a bummer. The weather all day was super nice we had a cloud cover and the temperature was in the mid 60s. Overall the day was really good day, it’s just nice to be back on the saddle. Tomorrow we have our second rest day and are going to cliff dwellings so it should be another cool day.
